Today was a tough day for our tiny monkey, Rainbow. This sweet and gentle baby was mistreated by her stepmother, Libby, and our hearts are heavy seeing her go through such unfair treatment.
Rainbow, with her soft fur and innocent eyes, has always been a quiet and affectionate little soul. She depends on the older monkeys for care, comfort, and protection. But instead of the kindness she deserves, she faced harsh behavior from Libby, who has not yet accepted Rainbow as one of her own.
Libby, though usually calm, showed signs of jealousy or stress today. She pushed Rainbow away, refused to let her near during feeding, and even acted aggressively when Rainbow tried to seek warmth. It’s hard to watch such behavior, especially when Rainbow looks up to her with so much trust and hope.
The caregivers were quick to notice and gently intervened to make sure Rainbow was safe and comforted. She was given food, wrapped in soft blankets, and held with care to soothe her tiny heart. It’s heartbreaking to see her confused eyes, not understanding why love was replaced with rejection.
Sometimes, just like in the wild, animals need time to adjust to each other. But no baby deserves to feel unwanted. Rainbow is strong, and with the love and protection from her human caregivers, she will grow up knowing she is valued and safe.
