Berica Upset as Mom Ignores Her

Sweet little Berica was visibly upset tonight—and the reason was clear: her mother, Berry, ignored her desperate attempt to get milk before bedtime. What should have been a quiet, comforting routine turned into a sad and confusing moment for the hungry baby.

As dusk settled over the enclosure, Berica began her usual bedtime behavior—nestling close to Berry, nudging her gently, and softly squeaking for milk. But Berry, distracted or perhaps stressed, refused to respond. She shifted away, groomed herself, and even turned her back on her baby.

Berica didn’t give up. She followed, pawed at her mother, and tried to latch on—but Berry pushed her away. The tiny monkey’s face fell. Her body curled slightly, and she sat silently beside her mother, clearly feeling both hunger and rejection.
