Sovan & Sovanny Fight Over Playing with Jula

What began as a playful afternoon turned tense when two young monkeys, Sovan and Sovanny, got into a heated fight—all because they both wanted to play with baby Jula.

Jula, the newest and most curious little one in the group, has quickly become the center of attention. Her playful hops, soft squeaks, and innocent eyes have captured the hearts of everyone—especially Sovan and Sovanny. Both young males have shown a special fondness for her, often bringing her food, grooming her gently, or trying to impress her with acrobatic flips.

But today, jealousy got the best of them.

When Jula reached out to play with Sovanny first, Sovan reacted instantly—rushing over, pushing Sovanny aside, and grabbing at Jula’s arm. Sovanny growled in protest and lunged back. What followed was a flurry of angry chirps, swipes, and fur pulling between the two boys. Jula quickly backed away, frightened by the sudden outburst.

Caregivers stepped in immediately to separate them and calm the situation. Neither monkey was seriously hurt, but both were clearly riled up—and poor Jula looked overwhelmed.

Fights like these aren’t uncommon among young monkeys. Social bonds, attention, and even playmates can trigger rivalry, especially when emotions run high. Just like children, they’re learning how to share, cope with feelings, and navigate friendships.
