Alba Struggles to Get Milk for Survival

Comments Off on Alba Struggles to Get Milk for Survival

Tiny baby monkey Alba is fighting quietly, and her struggle speaks volumes. Still in her fragile early days, Alba is facing a challenge no infant should—difficulty getting enough milk to survive.

Born small and vulnerable, Alba depends completely on her mother for warmth, comfort, and—most importantly—nutrition. But something is wrong. Her mother, either inexperienced or stressed, isn’t producing enough milk—or isn’t letting Alba nurse properly. Each time Alba tries to latch on, she’s pushed away or met with indifference. Her cries are soft, but persistent, as her tiny body searches for the nourishment it needs.

Rescuers noticed the signs quickly: weight loss, weakness, and constant crying. While other babies played or slept, Alba remained curled up, conserving her energy. Her eyes seemed tired, her movements slow. It was clear—if she didn’t get milk soon, her health would decline rapidly.

The sanctuary team acted fast. A caregiver carefully separated Alba for short feedings, offering warm formula through a tiny syringe designed for baby monkeys. At first, Alba was unsure—but once the warm drops touched her tongue, she latched on with desperation. Every sip gave her strength. Every feeding, a chance.
