Tiny Candy was the darling of the troop—gentle, sweet, and always surrounded by love. Her innocent giggles and playful charm made everyone smile. But not everyone was happy with the attention she received. Rojo, a baby monkey just a bit older than Candy, began to watch her with envy in his eyes.
Rojo had once been the center of attention. But since Candy’s arrival, he felt overlooked, forgotten. That jealousy grew quietly inside him until, one day, it boiled over.
While the troop rested in the shade, Candy was playing nearby with a soft leaf, humming happily. Without warning, Rojo stormed toward her. His small body moved fast, fueled by rage. He grabbed Candy and shoved her roughly to the ground. She let out a sharp cry as Rojo scratched, bit, and hit her—his tiny hands full of fury.
Candy screamed in pain, trying to shield herself, but she was too small to defend against the sudden, violent attack. Within moments, older monkeys rushed in, pulling Rojo off the trembling baby. Candy was bleeding, her tiny face scratched, her body bruised.
Her mother rushed to her side, scooping her up and holding her close. Candy clung to her, sobbing, confused and hurt—not just physically, but emotionally. She didn’t understand why Rojo, someone she had once trusted, had hurt her so badly.
