It was one of those days. Lil, the tiniest baby monkey in the whole house, had more energy than a storm full of bananas. From the moment the sun peeked through the window, Lil had been zooming across the living room, flipping off cushions, poking her siblings, and swinging from curtains like she was auditioning for Monkey Olympics.
Mom kept saying, “Snack time in five minutes!” but five minutes in monkey time felt like forever. Lil couldn’t possibly wait. She was far too busy. There were toys to toss, tails to chase, and secret hideouts under the furniture to inspect.
That’s when she spotted the little round hole in the side of the wooden table—her curiosity radar lit up! She squeezed her tiny arm in… then her head… then one leg… but just as she was about to declare it her new super-secret clubhouse—uh oh—her bottom got stuck!
“EEP!” she squeaked, legs wiggling helplessly in the air. She tried pulling herself out. Nothing. She tried pushing through. Nada.
Right then, Mom walked in with a bowl full of fresh banana slices. She blinked. She sighed. “Lil…”
Lil looked up with her best “oopsie” face and chirped, “I was just checking if it was a snack hole!”
Mom laughed so hard she nearly dropped the bowl. Gently, she wiggled Lil free and handed her a banana. “Next time, wait for the snack.”
But Lil just smiled and said, “Next time, I bring the snack inside the table!”
Because if you’re a baby monkey like Lil, life’s just better when you’re a little stuck and a whole lot silly
