It was a quiet moment in the forest, and a baby monkey was playing high up in the tree branches. Like many young monkeys, he was full of energy and curiosity, exploring the world above with excitement. But then—one small misstep changed everything.
As he reached for a branch that was just a bit too far, he lost his grip. In an instant, the baby slipped and tumbled down through the leaves, falling from the tall tree to the ground below.
A loud thump, then silence.
For a moment, everything stood still. The forest grew quiet, and nearby monkeys turned to look. The baby lay there, stunned and frightened, not moving right away. His tiny chest rose and fell quickly, his eyes wide with fear.
Thankfully, he began to stir—a few small movements, then a soft cry. He was hurt, but alive.
Within seconds, his mother rushed to his side. She checked him over, grooming him gently, lifting him close to her chest. Her eyes were full of worry. She held him tightly, rocking him softly as he whimpered.
It was a terrifying moment, but also one that showed the strength of a mother’s love.
