With wide, round eyes full of wonder, the newborn baby monkey blinked slowly, taking in the strange new world around him.

Everything was unfamiliar — the smells, the sounds, the soft blanket beneath him. He clung to it tightly, unsure whether he should feel scared or safe. His little hands trembled, and his tiny nose twitched as he adjusted to the new space.
