A new life had just begun — but it didn’t start gently. This tiny newborn monkey entered the world with visible injuries on its fragile body. Scratches along the back, bruises near the legs, and swollen areas around the arms made it clear: something had gone wrong during birth or shortly after.
Instead of resting peacefully in a mother’s embrace, the baby lay trembling, its soft cries barely strong enough to be heard. Every breath looked painful. Every movement, slow and weak.
The mother stayed nearby, uncertain and overwhelmed. She didn’t clean the baby right away. Whether from fear, stress, or confusion, she hesitated — and the baby remained exposed, hurting and alone.
Other members of the group kept their distance. In wild settings, the weakest often struggle to survive unless help comes soon.
