Baby Kendra Blocked From Nursing by Her Mother

Comments Off on Baby Kendra Blocked From Nursing by Her Mother

It was a sad and difficult scene — newborn baby monkey Kendra, only days old, reached out to her mother for milk, but was gently, yet firmly, pushed away.

Kendra whimpered softly, her tiny body wobbling as she tried to crawl closer, driven by hunger and instinct. Her eyes blinked up at her mother, silently asking for comfort, for warmth, for the milk that her body so desperately needed. But instead of being welcomed, she was blocked.

Her mother shifted her body, turning slightly to keep Kendra away. When the baby tried again, lifting her little head and leaning toward her mother’s belly, she was nudged aside. The rejection wasn’t violent — but it was clear.

Kendra paused, confused. Her soft cries grew louder, more urgent. Her mouth opened wide in a silent plea. But still, her mother didn’t respond with love. No nursing. No cuddling. No eye contact.

This kind of behavior can sometimes happen when a mother is stressed, inexperienced, or uncertain about the baby — especially in rare cases like hybrid births or weak infants. But for Kendra, none of that mattered. All she felt was hunger and the sadness of being pushed away by the one she needed most.
