heartbreaking discovery was made today in the forest—a tiny abandoned baby monkey, alone and clinging to a half-empty baby milk bottle, a silent and painful sign that he had once been in human hands… and then left behind.
The baby, estimated to be just a few weeks old, was found crouched at the edge of a clearing, visibly weak, eyes dull, and fur slightly matted. But what stood out most was the baby bottle still in his grasp. The milk inside was souring, and the way he held it—tight and desperate—showed he likely hadn’t eaten in many hours.
It’s believed this infant was either abandoned by someone who had kept him illegally or left behind after being separated from a poorly managed captive situation. He had no troop nearby, no family, and no natural instincts developed yet to survive in the wild. He was in serious danger.
Rescuers moved quickly and gently. He didn’t resist—just looked up, exhausted and silently pleading. Once safely wrapped in a towel, he was given warm, fresh milk and some glucose to stabilize him. Slowly, his strength began to return. He even made a soft cooing sound, a sign of comfort and recognition of gentle touch.
This poor soul—now named Nilo—is under close observation. His journey to recovery will take time, trust, and proper care. He’s already shown strength by surviving alone in the wild, but he should never have had to.
