In the bustling outskirts of Rio de Janeiro, a dramatic and emotional rescue unfolded when a young monkey became trapped in a discarded fishing net near a busy roadside. The little capuchin, known by locals as “Nino,” had been separated from his troop for days. Starving, scared, and disoriented, he was desperately searching for food when he became entangled in the nearly invisible strands of nylon.

Passersby heard his high-pitched cries and saw him struggling—his tiny limbs twisted painfully in the net, his eyes wide with fear. He fought to free himself, but the more he moved, the tighter the net pulled. By the time help arrived, he was barely moving, exhausted and trembling.

Local wildlife rescue workers responded quickly. With delicate care, they cut the net away, inch by inch, speaking softly to calm the terrified animal. Nino didn’t fight them—he was too weak—but the moment he was freed, he curled into the arms of one rescuer, clinging tightly like a baby to his mother.
