Baby Luna was restless. She had been fussing and chewing on her fingers, clearly in need of comfort. Her dad, a patient and caring figure in the monkey troop, noticed her unease and decided to try something new—introducing her to a pacifier for the first time.
At first, Luna didn’t know what to make of it. She looked at the strange object with wide eyes, sniffing it cautiously. Her dad gently held it out, nudging it toward her mouth. But Luna turned her head, uninterested.
Still, her dad didn’t give up. With gentle encouragement, he tried again—this time brushing it softly against her lips. Luna gave a little nibble, then pulled away. Her face scrunched in confusion, unsure of what this was supposed to do.
He patiently sat with her, watching her little hands explore the pacifier. Slowly, Luna became curious. She took a few more experimental bites. After a few minutes, she gave in—and began to suckle.
Almost instantly, her body relaxed. The soothing effect worked, and her tiny eyes began to soften with calm.
